This is your chance to get inside a real AI engineering and Cloud team and see how enterprise software is designed, built, and delivered at scale.
At Ideagen, we create Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) SaaS products used by organisations around the world and our Engineering team plays a vital role in making that happen.
Responsibilities
Your placement is split across two distinct teams, giving you broad exposure and a clear sense of how different parts of engineering connect.
Weeks 1–2: Cloud team
- Shadow and support our Cloud engineers on real infrastructure work
- Learn how SaaS products are deployed, maintained, and scaled in the cloud
- Get introduced to DevOps practices and how teams release software safely
- Gain hands-on experience with cloud tools used in live production environments
Weeks 3–4: Mazlan AI team
- Work alongside our AI specialists on machine learning and AI solutions
- Learn how AI tools are used in enterprise software
- Take part in team discussions, research, and practical experimentation
- Discover how responsible AI works in a real business setting
Weeks 5–6: AI-focused delivery project
- Contribute to a focused AI delivery project within an agile team
- Experience what it’s like to deliver real work to real timelines
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders
- Present your learnings and contributions at the end of the placement
Skills and Experience
We’re looking for curious, motivated second year students or graduates who are excited about technology and want to build real-world experience alongside an engineering team.
Essential:
- Currently studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development, or a related degree
- A genuine interest in AI, technology and how software is built and delivered
- Curious, confident asking questions, and eager to learn
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- A proactive mindset — you take ownership of your learning
